Technical description: Upright piano with protruding keyboard and legs supporting the keyboard. Compass 73|notes, F₁ - F₇ (FF - f''''). Strings vertical in the main section of the case. The lid of the protruding keyboard section hinges halfway back so the keyboard section is exposed. The underside of the lid has a music desk and two wooden candle holders which are exposed when the lid is open. The candle holders are each attached by a single screw and can turn to be placed in the preferred position. The case is veneered in rosewood. Ivory naturals, headlength 45, ebony accidentals, length 88, sycamore arcades. Three-octave span 492. The back of the instrument is covered with brown linen to keep dust out of the interior. Rosewood veneered panel at the front of the case below the keyboard. Two wooden pedals, the left-hand a una corda moving the action to the left, the right-hand pedal being for a sustain. height of the top of the naturals above the floor 753. Repair History: Overhauled to playing condition and silk covering applied, 1978-79.
