Artist's inscriptions, signatures, and 16 seals:K. The ancients, when painting snow always emphasized the chilly wind to depict the coldness. Recent painters have not realized this. K'ang-hsi era, chia-tzu year [1684], winter, the tenth month. Cha Shih-piao [seal] Shih-piao.2 colophons and 12 additional seals: 1 colophon and 1 seal of Ma Yüeh-kuan (1688-1755); 1 colophon, dated 1759, and 1 seal of Huang Ts'ou; 2 seals of Liu Hai-su (20th c.)
