Color lithograph broadside plan of the U.S.S.R. Agricultural Exhibition on sheet 35x55, folded to pictorial cover 35x13.5. The Exhibition includes a large entrance hall in bottom center, and small buildings represented different regions of the USSR. Includes vignette views of buildings on top and both sides. On verso 2 plans, text and key showing the areas depicted on the map. The exhibition opened to public August 1, 1939, it was closed form from 1939 on due to the WWII, the exhibition grounds with renovated pavilions are today opened for the public. This map is from the second year after reopening. Title from cover.

This pictorial map gets larger with each issue: this 1854 edition is almost twice the size of the of the (1852) edition. More illustrations are added, including a large "Universal Dial Plate Or Times Of All Nations." A classic mid century graphic.

Map is copyright 1847 by H. Phelps. 1852 is estimated based on the population figures, compared to the populations given in the 1847 issue, "Pictorial View of the World" by H. Phelps (see our #2922). A wonderful broadside, with heights of mountains, lengths of rivers, female costumes, and much else.

Pictorial map of Manhattan, produced in conjunction with the invitation to an exhibit of photographs representing the result of a five month's European pilgrimage made by the Editors of The Architectural Forum ... April Twentieth - May Ninth. Designed by Daneil K. Wallingford who worked for the Architectural Forum from 1923-1925. This is his first cartographic work before setting his own firm. Map includes decorative borders and land mark vignette at the upper margin. Shows streets, landmarks and important buildings. Includes a key in the lower panel provides a guide to buildings, restaurants, stores, cafes and shops. A decorative compass rose oriented with the north to the upper center. Library has 1925 edition, see Publist #11400.000.
