1938 edition of the pictorial map of the United States by Pullman Company, on sheet 68x81, folded into pictorial self wrappers 23x11. Covers parts of Canada and Mexico. The illustrations on the cover by Leslie Ragan, depict inhabitants: an American Indian, a Mexican musician and a woman against the background of high snowy mountains, a skyscraper and a train in the foreground. "United States Lines" stamp on front cover. Despite the fact that it was issued by the railroads there is no railroad theme to the map. Map showing state boundaries, major cities, landmarks, industry, agriculture, forests, national parks, recreational activities, and places of interest. Includes "A table of one way distance." Relief shown pictorially. On verso: text and photos describe the sights of America, Canada and Mexico.

The Willard Centenary Souvenir cloth map of the United States. One of 8,800 produced for the 1939 centenary of Frances Willard’s birth, the Founder and president of Woman's Christian Temperance Union from 1879 until her death in 1898. The maps were advertised in the Union Signal, the WCTU’s national weekly newspaper, starting in mid-1938, and went on sale for the first time at the National WCTU Convention in San Francisco in August, 1938. The “cut” from which the map was printed was produced by Mr. M. Hermas of Evanston, and the maps were produced by Waverly Fabrics, in New York. Pictorial map printed in brown on rectangle of cream-colored cotton. Drawn by Ida Schmid Randall, artist, architect, and cartographer and was produced by the WCTU to commemorate the 1939 centenary of Willard’s birth. Includes sketch of Willard as a young woman is at the center top and seal of the National Woman's Christian Temperance Union at the center bottom. Map showing state boundaries with location of structure that had been named in honor of Frances E. Willard. Includes vignettes of buildings at the upper and lower panels and full listing of all 263 buildings, statues, plaques, trees, drinking-fountains, and stained-glass windows, schools and parks in both sides.

Colorful pictorial promotional map of Indiana, "complementary copies to school teachers", by R.T. Aitchison, published by the The Mentholatum Company. Map includes decorative vignettes illustrating the history and resources and a detailed text history of the state. Showing place names, roads, railroads, Indian settlements, landmarks, industry and county boundaries. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. Includes the State seal and The State flower. R.T. Aitchison was a Witchita, Kansas illustrator. His collection is housed at Witchita State University and consists of: 35 maps are divided into two series. The first includes 29 maps by Wichita illustrator and artist Robert T. Aitchison produced for the Mentholatum Company. These include state historical maps, and a map of the Holy Land. The second series includes six maps. These additional maps were not part of the Mentholatum Company series and include maps printed by the McCormick-Armstrong Company, a pencil sketch, a map compiled by Aitchison and rendered by Bill Jackson, and Aitchison's final map finished by Bill Jackson.

Similar to MacDonald Gill map of the London underground railways, an important early example of 20th century pictorial maps. The map features prominent landmarks, boroughs, place names, streets and parks. Illustrated with humorous cartoons peopled with local and historical characters, tourists attraction and with notations. The artist is depicted at work at bottom right. The border has cartoon illustrations of peoples from the colonies of the British Empire. At the top are shields bearing the Union flag and the flags of the Irish Free State and the crosses of St. Andrew, St. George and St. Patrick. At the bottom is an illustration of the royal procession at the State Opening of Parliament, with the royal carriage. Text in a box with a green background at bottom left gives details of London's attractions, and another text box at top left reads "Direct connection with Underground & Southern Railways". A map produced to illustrate the setting of a radio program: "Vic and Sade was an American radio program created and written by Paul Rhymer. It was regularly broadcast on radio from 1932 to 1944, then intermittently until 1946, and was briefly adapted to television in 1949 and again in 1957. During its 14-year run on radio, Vic and Sade became one of the most popular series of its kind, earning critical and popular success: according to Time, Vic and Sade had 7,000,000 devoted listeners in 1943. For the majority of its span on the air, Vic and Sade was heard in 15-minute episodes without a continuing storyline. The central characters, known as "radio's home folks", were accountant Victor Rodney Gook (Art Van Harvey), his wife Sade (Bernardine Flynn) and their adopted son Rush (Bill Idelson). The three lived on Virginia Avenue in "the small house halfway up in the next block." (Wikipedia). Story roughly based on life in Illinois.
