Author
[Colton, J.H., Parker, Nathan H.]
Note
Large scale map of the state, showing coal, iron, lead, and plaster formations, as well as a few finished railroads in the eastern portions, and many proposed or constructing railroads extending westward. There is a list of "Railroads In Iowa" in the lower left. Although "copper" is mentioned in the title, we can find no copper formations listed or in the key. Full color by county. Folded into stamped red cloth covers 16x10.5 with "Sectional And Geological Map Of Iowa N.H. Parker." stamped in gilt.
Author
Chapman, Silas
Note
First edition and the first Chapman Iowa map listed in Karrow. Curiously, this was the only Chapman Iowa map issued in the 1850's, a popular time for Iowa maps. Full color. Map is folded into dark green cloth covers 14.5x9 with "Chapman's Sectional Map Of Iowa." in gilt.
Author
[Blanchard, Rufus, Morse, Charles W.]
Note
Beautiful wax engraved map in the best style. Full color, with yellow and green vine border. Folded into dark green cloth covers 15.5x10 with "Morse's Map Of Iowa" in gilt. Prime meridians are Washington D.C. and Greenwich.
Author
Henn, Williams & Co.
Note
The plate has changed again from the 1855 editions. The border is a "DeSilver" border, so we assume he did the lithography. Full color. Map is folded into stamped mauve cloth covers 14.5x9 with "Henn, Williams & Co. Township Map Of Iowa, 1856. Chicago, Keen & Lee" in gilt. Prime meridian is Washington D.C.
