Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. Shows Indian tribes. Prime meridians: Greenwich and Washington. Desilver, Charles New Map of Maine. 1857 Pocket Map   Author Desilver, Charles Note Identical to the DeSilver/Mitchell Universal Atlas Map, except for the date of 1857 which appears in the title. Has a catalogue of DeSilver maps, with the following which says much about the various publishing realtionships of the day: "Charles DeSilver, Of the late Firms of Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co., and Cowperthwait, Desilver & Butler, at the Old Stand of Desilver, Thomas & Co., 253 Market Street..."
