[Messinger, John, Peck, J. M., Colton, J.H., Mathewson, A.J.]
Note
An unrecorded issue of this map. Colton's name has been added to the title, but the copyright date has reverted to 1836 (from the 1853 copyright for the 1854 issue). The two inset maps have been changed to the City of Chicago and the City of St. Louis (taken from the Colton General Atlas maps). Most of the map changes from the 1854 issue are new railroads. Map is folded into stamped black cloth covers 14.5x9 with "Colton & Co.s. Map Of Illinois Exhibiting The Sections By Peck & Messinger" in gilt. Full color by county. Prime meridian is Washington D.C.
